Mary Ann Elman

Mary Ann Elman, a licensed professional teacher who graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and earned a Bachelor of Music major in Music Education with flute, piano and voice emphasis. A scholar in the university and from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. In the conservatory, she joined the symphony band, orchestra and chorus. She  performed in concert series, World Youth Day, UST's Sampung Mga Daliri atbp., Music summer camps, and Choir concerts and so on. In summer, she performs and teach indigent children. 


Part of being a teacher, she attended professional learnings from Musicplay Online Canada,  Concept-Based Inquiry online master classes in New Zealand, Children with disabilities (ADHD), Body Percussion with Dr. Richard Fillz,  Teach Ukulele in the classroom (USA), UP College of Education Series  of  Live webinars, and so on. She even took Basic Life Support course from the Philippine Heart Association Philippine College of Cardiology. Also, she earned an international certification The First Steps in Music from John Feierabend Association for Music Education USA.


Furthermore, a member and part of the EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Schools), Pambansang Samahan ng mga Banda sa Pinas, Inc,  Band Conductors League of the Philippines. 


As a musician and a performer for over twenty years, she has had an opportunity to teach a diverse group of elementary and high school students, as well as professionals. Her experiences flourish in both campuses of Brent International School Manila and Subic. In BISM, she worked as an ESL teacher and an assistant music teacher. In 2013, she was the 38th teacher applicant blessed to land on her dream in BISS  as the Music specialist, Middle school band director, Upper school choir teacher, and the musical director for the school's Musical productions.
