John Paul Calizon

Hello! I’m John Paul R. Calizon, I’ve been a musician ever since. I graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Music, Music Education Emphasis in Flute and Piano. Also a former member of UST Symphony Band which happened to be my Sto. Domingo scholarship since 2012 during my First year of college up until graduating. Currently, I am a Principal flutist member of Pasay City Symphony Band and a band trainer/flute teacher of San Juan Nepomuceno band. I attended numerous workshops and masterclass like Music education seminar entitled "Music is fun" with Bethel D. Schnitzlei 21st Oct. 2015, Conn & Selmer Worshop with Frank Troyka director of Bands 25th Aug. 2015 at University of santo tomas, "FLUTOPIA" a Flute Celebration  a total awareness of flute music July 6-7 2013 (Masterclass) featuring: JINTA Principal flutist of Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) at Cultural Center of the philippines. I started learning to play music at the Age of 10 from the influence of my Grandfather, a founding member of our dear band, ‘San Juan Nepomuceno’, then learned to play the flute and found passion in performing. Later on, I became passionate about teaching young individuals who would love to be a part and see the world of music. I want to share my experiences on how Music helps me be a better person and take me where I am today. I would love to share passion with people who appreciate music, and enjoy preserving a unique talent in playing instruments. I hope my story and knowledge will be a blessing to someone as I take another wider path of being a musician.
